The X Kids robotics program focuses on building minds through the creative use of electronics and machines.
We supply the latest technology, from iPads and laptops to Lego Mindstorms. Every part of our program is geared towards the future.
With the guidance of our robotics specialists, students learn the importance of cooperation, teamwork and leadership.
Robotics challenges a student to think critically, strengthening reason and logic skills. Students work in teams, promoting leadership and social awareness.
Our program stresses the importance of learning organically, by discovery and experimentation.
Learning through physical interaction gives students a more tangible grasp of math and science. With Lego Mindstorms students will be able to create a variety of complex robots. Combined with 3D instructional computer applications, students can zoom in and rotate virtual models during each step, viewing the process from every angle. Everyone is free to design their own amazing creative inventions! These robots can even be operated remotely by mobile phone or tablet computer.
The X Kids walk away with the power to know that they can do anything!
The X Kids camps are great for all kids, ages 4-16.
From 3pm-4pm every day during our 2016 Summer Camp, students can enroll in our Minecraft Club. Students will learn how to create skins and "mods," and build practically anything they can imagine. Some kids recreate famous pieces of architecture, others express their creativity through grand designs.
LEGO Mindstorms ignites every student's imagination. Building skills like critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity, students are inspired to understand the subjects of math, science, and engineering. Robotics teaches the language of creation, and builds connections in childrens' lives beyond the classroom, to the real world.
Making computer programming simple, easy and fun. Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your creations on the web. As young people create and share Scratch projects, they learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. Younger students will learn programming using tools from Code.org, endorsed by Mark Zuckerberg! This site teaches children to code by playing popular video games like Angry Birds.
Parrot Jumping Sumo is a responsive bot with a strong personality which rolls, rushes, zig-zags, circles, takes turns at 90°. In a flash, it leaps up to 80 cm in height! Its ultra sophisticated technology enables more precise turns than any radio-controlled car.
We have a dozen iPads at The X Kids, all loaded with the latest and most fun educational games. In addition to the latest apps from the best developers, we are constantly designing new educational games of our own to give our campers the biggest advantages in high-tech, digital learning. Campers learn math, reading, writing, spelling, and even chess in this unique environment. The hands-on nature of this equipment means the iPad learning station is ALWAYS FUN!
Chess is a fun way to learn concepts of strategy and planning ahead. We teach students of all skill levels how to think about the complexities of this ancient game. Good sportsmanship and competitiveness are important parts of the X Kids education.
